This popular event features an extravaganza of food-based activities all weekend. There will be book signings by chefs; food tastings; a beer, wine, and spirit garden; an event dedicated to barbeque; shopping; cooking classes; and food talks. It sounds like it will be one deliciously appealing show, so bring your appetite to this festival of culinary delight!
Food Is Everywhere
There will be a magnificent opportunity to indulge in samples from Washington’s best restaurants at the 7th Annual Grand Tasting Pavilion. This well-attended event offers samples from around 50 restaurants. Participants even get a chance to vote on their favorites. A portion of the proceeds will benefit SOME (So Others Might Eat), a worthy organization that provides aid to the poor and homeless of DC. There will be book signings by celebrity chefs such as Martha Stewart and Wolfgang Puck. A number of cooking classes are provided, which offer everything from making sauces, to baking holiday cookies, to preparing appetizers. At the fabulous BBQ Bash, chefs will serve samples of their barbeque, and visitors will determine the winners. There will be several mouth-watering categories to choose from, including Best Chicken, Best Ribs, Best Pork, Best Sauce, and Best Side.
For many attendees, the beer, wine, and spirits garden is a particular treat. Participants enjoy unlimited tastings from a variety of breweries, distilleries, and wineries. There will be live music provided by Bobby McKey’s Dueling Piano Bar, as well as an exciting and festive atmosphere. The beer, wine, and spirits garden will be open on Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm, and on Sunday from 12 pm to 4 pm. You must be twenty-one and provide valid ID in order to attend this event.

The MetroCooking DC Show will be held on Saturday, November 16, from 10 am to 5:30 pm, and Sunday, November 17, from 10 am to 5 pm. Check the schedule for times of specific activities.
